Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy sets the ground rules for anything hosted on HostyXo's infrastructure. It applies to every shared, WordPress, and VPS plan, alongside our Terms & Conditions. Most customers never come close to any of this. It's mainly here to protect the shared infrastructure and network everyone else on HostyXo depends on.

Shared hosting means shared hardware, shared bandwidth, and a shared IP reputation. One account sending spam or running malware doesn't just risk its own account. It can get an entire server's IP range blacklisted, slow things down for other customers, or draw abuse complaints that land on our support team. This policy is how we keep that from happening.

The following can't be hosted, stored, or linked to from a HostyXo account:

• Content that's illegal under Bangladeshi law or the law of the content's target audience
• Malware, viruses, ransomware, or any code designed to damage or gain unauthorized access to a system
• Phishing pages or anything impersonating another person, brand, or organization to deceive
• Content that infringes someone else's copyright or trademark (see our DMCA Policy)
• Content sexually exploiting minors in any form; these cases get reported to the relevant authorities immediately, no exceptions

Separate from content, these activities aren't allowed regardless of what's being hosted:

• Sending spam, or operating any part of a spam operation (open relays, harvested lists, spam-friendly redirects)
• Port scanning, DDoS activity, brute-force login attempts, or any attack against systems you don't own
• Bitcoin/crypto mining or any process that runs sustained, disproportionate CPU load (see resource limits below)
• Bypassing account limits through proxying, botnets, or automated abuse of free trials or referral programs
• Reselling hosting resources beyond what your plan and any reseller agreement explicitly allow

Shared and WordPress plans list generous but not unlimited disk, bandwidth, and CPU allowances on the Pricing page. If a single account's resource use is consistently degrading performance for other customers on the same server, we'll reach out first, since the usual fix is optimizing a slow script or database query, not suspension. Accounts that need dedicated, guaranteed resources should move to a VPS plan instead of running at the edge of a shared plan's limits long-term.

Transactional and opt-in newsletter email is fine. What isn't: purchased or scraped mailing lists, email with no working unsubscribe, or any message sent to a recipient who never asked for it. Accounts with a high spam-complaint rate get flagged automatically by our mail servers, regardless of intent, and repeated flags lead to mail sending being restricted on that account.

Don't host content you don't have the rights to distribute. If you believe something hosted on HostyXo infringes your copyright, our DMCA Policy explains exactly how to file a takedown notice and what happens after.

Most violations start with a warning and a chance to fix the issue. We'd rather help you resolve it than lose a customer over something correctable. Content that's actively harmful (live malware, an ongoing attack, illegal content) can be suspended immediately without prior warning to stop the damage, with an explanation sent right after. Repeated or severe violations can lead to account termination, and severe cases (illegal content, active attacks) may be reported to the relevant authorities.
